Maybe a little misleading because of the wide-angle lens, but the rear bumpers were even:

Impressive difference.

I saw a Mini Countryman with the tag FATMINI on it, but I think that tag should be on all modern Minis.

As far as I’m concerned, the R50/R53 was the last real MINI. The R56 was still acceptable, but too unreliable.

I actually saw a GP yesterday and my friends couldn’t figure out why I was losing my mind. haha

They’re pretty neat and there are a couple of them locally, but I worry about how someone could have spent $40k on one. I’m sure they’re great... but there’s so much out there for $40k.

Anyway, the R53 is the best looking MINI by a mile. A nice set of wheels and a tasteful drop and you’ve got a stunner. Too bad they’re pretty horrendous to maintain.
